Here’s the most important thing to know about this workshop: Roberto Valenzuela’s posing class isn’t tied to any one genre, and that’s exactly the point. Once you truly understand the building blocks of posing and the foundations of body language, you can apply them to any type of photography.

Whether you’re shooting weddings, portraits, beauty, fashion, high school seniors, kids, families, or even large groups, it all comes down to the same core principles. When you know how posing really works, you won’t have to worry about what kind of shoot you’re doing. As long as there’s a person (or people) in front of your camera, you’ll know exactly what to do.

Simply put, the goal of this workshop is to take the fear out of posing once and for all, and replace it with a solid understanding of the posing language. You’ll learn how to create any look you want, recognize posing mistakes or distractions as they happen, and correct them in a natural, conversational way that feels comfortable for your clients.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll walk away with a clear grasp of the core building blocks that form the foundation of great posing. From there, it’s all about continuing to practice so these techniques become second nature during your shoots.

Posing can feel like a real challenge for many photographers. Most of us know bits and pieces, but when it comes time to shoot, we often rely on a little “guessing and hoping” to get through it. This workshop is designed to change that, and the best part is, you don’t need any prior experience with posing to get the most out of this class.

Posing isn’t about memorizing a set of rules for men, women, or groups. It’s a language, a way of communicating visually. Great posing should feel natural, look effortless, and be easy to guide. That’s the goal, no matter how long you’ve been in photography. In this workshop, we’ll build a strong posing foundation together, step by step.

Roberto is passionate about giving each student plenty of personal attention. That’s why we limit each workshop to just 20 students. Keeping the group small allows Roberto to watch you work directly with the models as you apply the posing techniques you’ve just learned, and give you helpful, real-time feedback to support your growth.

We totally understand, life happens, and sometimes plans change. While we do have fixed costs to ensure these workshops are a top-notch, comfortable experience for everyone, we also want to be as flexible as possible.

If you need to cancel, we offer a full refund if it’s 60 days before the workshop date, and a 50% refund if it’s within 30 days. No matter when you cancel, you’re always welcome to transfer your payment to a future workshop or apply it toward attending the next Photo Creators Conference.

Roberto Valenzuela has the right to cancel the workshop or move it to a different date if the workshop is not financially feasible. Depending on the location and type of workshop, we must have at least around six to eight students to make the workshop work. Less than six registrations will most likely result in the workshop being moved or cancelled. If that's the case, you can simply transfer your tuition payment to the new dates, or get a full refund.

We do our best to keep the workshop cost as low as possible while still providing an amazing, high-quality experience for everyone. Since everyone has different tastes and preferences when it comes to food, including meals can get a bit tricky, so meals are not included and will be covered by each attendee. That said, we always scout out great local restaurants with reasonable prices and share recommendations to make things easy and enjoyable for you!

Great question! This is a question we’ve heard over the years, and it’s an important one. First and foremost, models are people, just like any other subject you’ll photograph. The posing techniques you’ll learn in this workshop apply to anyone who steps in front of your camera.

The models we bring in are carefully selected by Roberto Valenzuela. They’ve been fully briefed and understand that their role is to support your learning, not to take over the posing process. They won’t guide themselves into poses or interfere. Instead, they’ll follow your lead so you can fully experience what it’s like to direct and shape a pose on your own.

Rest assured, we’ve put a lot of thought into this. The models we choose are not only experienced and professional, but also kind, patient, and genuinely supportive. They’re here to help you grow in your posing journey, not to do the work for you.

Absolutely! We want every attendee to walk away with not only valuable knowledge, but also images you’re truly proud of. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to photograph the models on your own, where you’re fully in control of the shoot. Those are your images to use and showcase however you’d like.

During Roberto Valenzuela’s demos, however, we kindly ask that you focus on the lesson being taught. Snapping photos over his shoulder during a demonstration doesn’t reflect your own direction or creative input, so those particular images shouldn’t be used in your portfolio, for ethical reasons.

That said, rest assured you’ll have more than enough hands-on time to create beautiful work that’s 100% yours to share and promote.
